About Astra

Through adversity, toward success.

Per aspera ad astra” is a Latin phrase meaning that we reach higher through adversity.

“Per aspera ad astra” speaks to the reality of high performers: progress does not come from avoiding difficulty, but from understanding what interferes with how we function under pressure. This work is for people who are capable, driven, and not afraid of challenge — but want fewer internal obstacles standing in the way of how they think, decide, and perform.

In clinical work, this means understanding not only what challenges you, but how you respond internally — under pressure, expectation, and responsibility.

MY VALUES

These principles shape how I work and who I work with.

Expertise & insight

I bring clinical training and years of experience to every session. I don’t offer generic coaching. I provide tailored, evidence-driven consultations grounded in ethics and clinical psychological formulation.

Respect for ambition

You’re already successful. You want to grow, and grow in a different way. I respect that drive, and I work efficiently and directly.

Honesty with care

This is a space for thoughtful, candid reflection, and real change.

HOW I WORK

This is psychological work, adapted for people who function under sustained pressure.

This work is psychological consultation grounded in clinical training. While performance is often part of the focus, we also work with anxiety, emotional regulation, relationships, and other concerns as they arise — without losing sight of how you function in your work and life.

I work best with people who are thoughtful, self-reflective, and willing to engage seriously with their own development — not just to manage symptoms, but to understand the patterns that shape their struggles and how they function when they are challenged.

This isn’t about chasing balance.
It’s about developing a way of functioning that’s sustainable, intentional, and aligned with who you are.

Meet Dr. Khuraman Mamedova

PhD, C. Psych

I’m a clinical psychologist with doctoral training and experience across individual therapy, sports psychology, workplace mental health, and professional consultation. My work is grounded in clinical experience, ethical practice, and a deep understanding of how high-performing individuals function under pressure.

Clients often describe me as direct and thoughtful — warm, intuitive, and willing to name what matters. I’m attentive to nuance, but I don’t avoid difficult conversations when they’re necessary for real change.

Over the years, I’ve worked with professionals who are capable, driven, and outwardly successful, yet sense that certain patterns keep interfering with clarity, confidence, or direction. When we work together, I ask careful, sometimes challenging questions, offer psychological insight, and help you move forward in a way that’s deliberate and aligned.

If I’m not the right fit, I’ll tell you. If I am, I’ll be fully engaged in the work with you.

Let’s talk.

If something here resonated, trust that instinct. You don’t have to keep spinning your wheels.
